Did they already eat? Tracking meals and walks as a family
How to avoid double meals and forgotten walks when several people look after your pet at home, without endless messages.

There’s a question asked at least once a week in every family with a pet: “Did they already eat?” Usually the answer is silence, then “not me”, then “maybe your sister did”. The result is one of these: two meals, no meal, or a walk that never happened because everyone thought someone else had done it.
It looks like a small problem, but it matters to the animal, and for the people caring for them it’s a little source of daily stress. A few rules solve it.
1. One place to write down what happened
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a sheet on the fridge, a small whiteboard or an app: there must be only one, always in the same place and easy to use with one hand. Family chats don’t work: messages get lost, and nobody scrolls back through two hundred messages to find out whether they ate at seven.
2. Write it down right away, with one tap
The golden rule: whoever feeds them marks it at that moment. Not “later”, not “tonight”: later they won’t remember. If the system takes more than five seconds, nobody will use it.
3. Also write it down when they didn’t eat
If food was left in the bowl, note it. A change in appetite is one of the most useful things to bring to the vet, and a single day’s data says nothing: you need days, lined up. If the appetite clearly changes or lasts, call the vet.
4. Walks: with whom, how long
For walks two things are enough: who went out and for how long. In a few weeks you see the real routine, which is often different from what you think: maybe on Thursdays they never get a long walk, or at weekends it’s always the same person.
5. Decide amounts together
If the kibble is 120 grams, it’s 120 grams for everyone. Write the amount and the times your vet indicated next to the bowl, and tell the others before changing anything.
What Cloud Pet does
In Cloud Pet, the Care tab keeps meals, walks and body care: whoever feeds them marks it with a tap, and if they didn’t eat that is written down too. Walks record who went out and for how long. With the shared profile, the rest of the family instantly sees what has already been done. Meal and walk reminders are part of Premium.
You don’t need an app to get started, though: you need one place and the habit of writing it down right away. The app is there so you don’t have to remember the habit.
